Things are not as they seem.

The past two years has been a time of unbridled discovery for me. From the advantageous position of being in jobs I didn't enjoy, with unlimited internet access and a penchant for any worthy distraction. I have been googling, youtubing, and book-reading my way to a deeper understanding of the world around us. My 'research' philosophy has been to come at things without preconceived ideas of what is possible or true, while having enough skepticism to lead me to explore deeper.

The general theme has been that many mainstream ideas I have traditionally taken for granted as true are in fact only half truths, or blatant lies, or usually layers of lies: the rabbit hole really is as deep as the well known saying about rabbit holes suggests. Our world is rapidly changing and yet much of the change is hidden from view. Many of us are plugged into mainstream thought, whether we like it or not, watching our telescreens and believing whatever our trusted journalists and politicians tell us. However this is only a movie version of what is truly going on, and it is time we wake up.

One such movie version of reality that has come clearly into view is the justifications for Anglo-American war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Under the rouse of finding weapons of mass destruction (WMD's) millions of Iraqis have been killed and their country is in tatters. We all now know that there were never any WMD's and the US government lied to justify their invasion. Backed by their massive propaganda machine resistance was limited and invasion ensued. This is an example of deception we are well familiar with, however this just the tip of the iceberg.

This blog is an attempt to help us attain free-thinking. The point of this blog is to... well... point, point to ideas we don't normally see. I hope that in doing so there will be some hearty discussion in which my ideas will be critiqued and therefore develop as much as yours will. So welcome.

I don't want this blog to always be about how lame things are heading, so I'll start by pointing you to a beautiful video that features some incredible footage and great explanation of the oneness of this precious earth. Enjoy.

  3. booya!

    Good blog idea mate.
I hear what you are saying....!

Bankoff (2003) talks about certain areas of the world have been seen historically as regions of risk and dangerous, so western interference has been justified through aid support- whether this was colonialism, aid or $$$ support. This led to the perception of people from these areas as themselves dangerous and in need of western help. And, as the majority of these nations are Islamic, then of course as westerners are all "christian", then they too must become like us.
what a world we live in, where $$$ seems to motivate all, driving politics, war and influencing religion.

look forward to some cool discussion
